This week’s Daily Paintworks Challenge is presented by Qiang Huang.
I am always challenged when painting with a color scheme of complementary colors red and green. I find it difficult to extend the range of values without making the colors pasty. When I awoke to a dozen red roses and a box of Godiva chocolate, I couldn’t resist accepting Qiang’s challenge.
My palette was lemon yellow, cadmium yellow, cadmium red light, alizarin crimson, manganese blue, french ultramarine blue and viridian.
Oil on prepared birch panel 5″ x 5″
The painting is listed for sale on my Etsy Store.
