I always pack one pair of medium weight wool socks. Though they don’t dry quickly, wool is excellent for keeping your feet warm even when wet. They absorb moisture from your feet sweating as well as protect your feet from getting blisters. They can double as house slippers. They are simply a good idea. I only take one pair. The ones shown are point 6, but I also wear SmartWool.
When I wear a skirt or a dress with my walking/hiking shoes (5.10 Guide Tennie), I wear low-cut or no-show socks.
Puma Performance No-Show Liner Socks:
polyester, cotton, spandex, nylon, non-slip heel
These are my favorite no-show socks. The non-slip heel not only keeps the liner sock in place, it also prevents movement and rubbing that can lead to blisters. I wear these as house slippers without them falling off.
Fila Sport Performance Ultra-Low Liner Socks:
Polyester and Spandex
The ridge of the turned-over fabric is uncomfortable rubbing against my skin. I can’t wear them as house slippers because they slip off.
