In spite of the frigid weather, there was a great turnout for both the watercolor demonstration and the opening reception of my exhibit What If? at the Dorchester Center for the Arts in Cambridge, MD. Starting on Thursday, I enjoyed four, glorious days eating, drinking, laughing and playing with friends and artists. Thank you! The Eastern Shore is beginning to feel like a home away from home.
Dala Art – Winter Warmth – ink and watercolor.
I started this Dala at the Starlings, relaxing with friends, sipping wine and enjoying the warmth of the fireplace. I got as far as drawing the three spindle-like pieces inspired by the wooden mantle supports. The Dala was completed upon returning home and spending the last bit of Valentine’s Day with Tom in front of the wood stove. A cozy ending for a lovely weekend. Though my flesh was chilled by the winter air, my heart stayed warm, fuel by the companionship of comrades.
