Round Palettes

Round Palettes with at least 12 wells

On a recent trip to California to teach a few watercolor workshops, I was fortunate to discover three more round palettes that have at least twelve wells.  When I first taught the Color Scheme Game Workshops a couple of years ago, I could find only the Stephen Quiller palettes (wonderful but expensive for students to purchase for a workshop) and the petal palette that I ended up using ( small, inexpensive but only ten wells on the outer ring).

I ordered my Stephen Quiller palettes several years ago, directly from Stephen Quiller. I use them often. Many online art supply stores offer the Stephen Quiller palettes.

I purchased the Speedball Color Wheel Palette at Rileystreet Art Supply while teaching The Color Scheme Game and Watercolor Techniques workshops.  The price ranges from $13 to $20 depending on where you purchase it.  The two palettes nest together to easily transport, providing easy mixing for both a limited and an extended palette!

No.3 – Master’s Touch Palette.  Nancy Roberts told me about this palette when we were painting together at Mount Diablo.  I purchased it from Hobby Lobby for $9.99.  It has deep wells allowing me to mix large quantities of paint.  It comes with a clear plastic lid to keep the paints moist.  Great palette!
