I had forgotten how much I loved drawing with brown ink until my friend, Susan Cornelis, asked me if I knew of a good alternative to the often-too-thin Walnut inks. I reached for my notebook, filled with the tests I have made for dozens of inks. After sending off a list of possibilities I decided to clean a few pens and fill them with a few different brown inks.
I, too, had searched for a more substantial walnut ink, but had forgotten that I purchased a bottle of Noodler’s Walnut Ink. The Queen of Diamonds was drawn with a Lamy Safari, Fine Nib fountain pen filled with Noodler’s Walnut Ink. I love the rich, warm tones.
Thanks for shaking of the cobwebs, Susan!
