Please Note – Several artists have had trouble registering and purchasing through this website, possibly because they have their computer set not to accept “cookies”. I apologize for this inconvenience. If you run into this problem, please email me (Chris@ChrisCarterArt.com) and I will send a PayPal invoice directly to your email. You do not have to have a PayPal account. You may pay as a “Guest”.
Friday – Delightful sketchbook techniques that will have you drawing daily. Each artist will receive a fountain pen and learn how to clean and care for it.
Permanent Fine Tip marker such as Sharpie or Pigma Micron (02, 03 or 05)
Fountain Pen if you have one and want to use it. Don’t purchase one for the class. I generally fill my fountain pens with Noodler’s black ink so the bleed is minimal and the ink is permanent. Some artists don’t like any bleed at all. I like it. If you have a pen, but it is clogged, bring it to class and I will show you how to clean it during our lunch break.
Dip Pen and several different nibs
Bottled Ink of any colour (either waterproof or water-soluble)
Sketchbook with paper that will accept ink and washes of watercolor. It does not need to be watercolour paper, just a heavier paper of good quality.(any size, but minimum of 5”x7”)
Watercolour brushes – I suggest a round #10 and a round #6 with a good point. Three containers for water
Watercolours (tubes or pans), bring whatever you have. Colours don’t really matter for this workshop. If you need to purchase watercolours, you don’t need to buy more than two tubes. I suggest one warm colour and one cool colour, or just pick out two colours you love.
Painting smock if you use one.
