January 14, 2016

This afternoon I received a copy of the postcard files for What If ?, the upcoming solo exhibit at Dorchester Center for the Arts.  They did a wonderful job designing the card. The exhibit illustrates the evolution of my style and technique from 2004 – 2014.  Approximately ninety paintings will hang in the galleries and hallways of the art center.  I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to spend the entire day on February 13th in the main gallery, throwing, splattering and atomizing paint as I do in my studio.  Families may come and go throughout the day to watch the painting develop layer by layer.  The Art Center is located at 321 High Street, Cambridge, Maryland.

About the author

Chris Carter

Chris Carter's eclectic work reflects her insatiable curiosity about the universe and its many wonders. She hones her artistic skills with a daily practice focused on realistic drawings of ordinary objects in her environment. These drawings are warm-up exercises for her live paintings of musicians and dancers during performances and her large, dramatic studio paintings that evolve intuitively without model or reference.
