After checking in at the hotel, the desk clerk asked if I needed help with my luggage. “I have no luggage,” I replied, smiled, turned and stepped into the elevator.
Two glorious days, all alone with my pen, paints and sketchbook.
The sounds of the passing people, the traffic and the Sabrett, hot dog vendors inspired the rhythms of my lines.
Even on a rainy day, New York City pulses with activity. The buildings transform as the light changes and the day passes. Windows, windows everywhere. And for each window there is at least one person who has a unique story.
I didn’t feel the need for windows in this one.
Sketches: All of the sketches were done with my pocket painter kit or the tiny metal travel palette I recently found at the local flea market. It works like a charm!
