Botanials lend themselves to Dala Art, loving to bend and twist in the wind and turning toward the sun.
I thought this was a California Huckleberry (vaccinium ovatum). My friend, Anita, correctly identified it as Gaultheria shallon. It’s great to have friends who truly know their botanicals! Thanks, Anita!
Drawn first in ink with Sheaffer (fine nib) fountain pen filled with Noodler’s Black ink, followed by watercolor, followed by a few more ink lines.
Mystery is solved! Anita identified it correctly as Gaultheria shallon, a member of the vaccinium family, but with a fuzzy stem and less clustered blossoms. thanks, Anita!
