August 2, 2014 – The inclination to alter the shapes and forms of my surroundings caught a different plane and landed somewhere other than Provence. I felt no urges to create either polyhedra nor zendalas during my glorious three weeks in Provence. It was only after one of the other artists viewed my website and inquired about the zendalas that I realized I had forgotten about them. How could I so easily forget something that I did daily at home? It must have been the magic of the light and landscape of Provence!
That evening I painted at my little round table in my room, gazing through the window at the pink hollyhocks, the lavender, the blue wooden shutters, the windows that I always leave open to welcome conversation as friends pass by, the ochre walls and the blue of the sky in the lingering light.
