On December 15th, 2013, I posted about transforming Elmer’s Paintastics into ink brushes for travel.
Great Idea! ….. until you travel by plane and the air pressure changes. I knew about the common occurrence of problems with fountain pens when flying. I hadn’t thought about my converted Elmer’s Paintastics. Fortunately, I decided to be creative early in my journey, discovering the disaster happening within the plastic bag and saving my Personal Bag from becoming a nightmare of ink blotches.
The photo above is mild compared to the mess inside the zip-lock bag when I reached for the ink brushes. Always!!! Always store your ink pens and waterbrushes and ink in ziplock bags when traveling! I rarely have mishaps, but when I do, the zip-lock (or any plastic bag) saves the day.
Dear Chris, omgosh, what a pretty mess! I, too, am a ziploc gal for anything with liquid when i travel and it has saved me some huge messes too. Love the colored pens though. I swear, NO ONE does ink and watercolor sketches like you do, you rule!
