Exercise One – Part Two – Adding Values to Line Drawings
After the dough was in the fridge and before I cleaned up the dishes, I made a cup of tea and sat down with my sketchbook and Ciao Coptic Markers. Choosing three markers, one light value, one middle value and one dark value, I turned my quick line drawings into value drawings. When the objects are no longer in front of me I make decisions based on the relationship of the shapes rather than reality. These are, like the line drawings, quick and without fuss.
