As I flipped through a couple of sketchbooks this evening I found an ink drawing I had done in August with the intention of adding color, an intention I had forgotten.

I brought my plants indoors just in time to miss last night’s frost. I have a plant stand this year that will make it easier for them to survive the winter with less than optimum sunlight. Fortunately, the stand is in one of the sunniest places in the house, adjacent to my drawing table. I will have the luxury of being inspired all winter long.
Double complementary color scheme: Orange and blue, purple and yellow … with yellow green as an accenting triad.
