Abergavenny, Wales – October 6, 2016 – Day Five
One of the many treasures in the village of Abergavenny is the milliner’s shop. As a very young child, I went with my mother to the hat shop in Somerville, New Jersey. I sat on an elegant chair and watched her smile as she tried on one glamorous hat after another. We often left with three or four round hat boxes. It was the only fashion indulgence my mother had.
Each day new signage and street art captures my attention and amuses me. Gardens continue to delight the botanist within me. My photographs are not capturing the open-hearted and friendliness of all the people I have met, the artists, the shopkeepers, my owners and staff at my B and B. I am loving this village in Wales and will happily return.
A great way to end the day, dinner with Anne and her delightful friend.
Looking forward to more adventures tomorrow.
